The Fire Sorlock: The Ardent Inquisitor
(11 Draconic Sorcerer / 1 Fiend Warlock)
The "Fire Acuity Sorlock" is a devastating magical variant. Instead of using arrows to charge Arcane Acuity like the Bard, this build uses the Scorching Ray spell coupled with the Hat of Fire Acuity. In a single low-level spell, you maximise your magical potency to immediately follow up with an infallible crowd control spell.
1. Character Creation & Stats
- Optimal Race: Half-Elf or Human (for shield proficiency).
- Background: Noble or Charlatan.
27-Point Allocation:
- Strength: 8 - Dexterity: 16 (Initiative and Armour Class)
- Constitution: 14 - Intelligence: 8 - Wisdom: 10 - Charisma: 17 (Primary damage stat. +1 from the Hag = 18)

The Fire Engine
LÉTAL- HEAD (Act 2): Hat of Fire Acuity (Looted from the Strange Ox at the Last Light Inn). Dealing fire damage grants Arcane Acuity (+1 to DC per stack, up to 10).
- GLOVES (Act 3): Spellmight Gloves (Dribbles the Clown quest). Adds 1d8 damage to each ray at the cost of a -5 penalty to hit (which your acuity will instantly negate).
The rest of the equipment:
- Weapon (Act 3): Markoheshkir (Free fire aura).
- Ring (Act 1): Coruscation Ring (To apply Radiating Orbs on your rays).

The build collapses without this hat. Switch to the Tempest Nuke build.
4. The Death Loop (Combat Rotation)
- The Ignition (Action): Cast Scorching Ray (3rd or 4th Level Spell). You fire 4 to 5 rays.
- The Buff: Each ray hits and triggers the Hat of Fire Acuity. In a single action, you reach 10 stacks (+10 to spell DC!). Your Gloves add 1d8 to each ray.
- The Control (Bonus Action): Use the Quickened Spell Metamagic to cast Command (Approach or Halt) upcast on every enemy on screen.
- Result: You have dealt massive single-target damage to the boss, and their entire entourage will skip their next turn.
