The Throwzerker: The Heavy Artillery
(5 Berserker Barbarian / 4 Thief Rogue / 3 Champion Fighter)
The "Throwzerker" is one of the undisputed stars of Honour Mode. By combining the Berserker subclass with the Tavern Brawler feat and weapons that automatically return to your hand, you become a mobile siege turret. Its ability to knock enemies Prone without a Saving Throw makes it an invaluable asset for both control and damage.
1. Character Creation & Stats
As with the Monk, we will exploit Elixirs of Hill Giant Strength to optimise our other stats, notably Dexterity for Initiative and Wisdom to resist enemy control spells.
- Optimal Race: Shield Dwarf or Gold Dwarf (defensive racial bonuses, and perfect synergy with the Dwarven Thrower in Act 3), or Half-Orc.
- Background: Soldier or Criminal.
27-Point Allocation (Elixir Mode):
- Strength: 8 (Replaced by the Elixir of Hill Giant Strength at 21 or 27)
- Dexterity: 16 (Armour Class, Initiative, Saving Throws)
- Constitution: 16 (Massive Hit Points)
- Intelligence: 8 (Useless)
- Wisdom: 14 (Vital mental Saving Throws)
- Charisma: 10
2. Leveling (Level 1 to 12)
Your power spike arrives extremely early (Level 4), which makes Act 1 trivial.
3. Best in Slot (BiS) Equipment
The Thrower's Arsenal
Info- The Act 1 Weapon: Returning Pike (Purchased at the goblin camp from Grat the Trader).
- The Act 3 Weapon: Nyrulna (The legendary trident from the Djinni Akabi) OR the Dwarven Thrower (Purchased from Ferg Drogher in Rivington if you are a Dwarf).
Throw damage multipliers:
- Ring (Act 1): Ring of Flinging (Emerald Grove). +1d4 to throw damage.
- Gloves (Act 1): Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo (Rescue Baelen in the Underdark). +1d4 to throw damage.
- Head (Act 3): Horns of the Berserker (+2 damage to attacks if you are not at full Hit Points).
Objet manqué
Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo (If Baelen dies or you miss the quest)
Plan B — Alternative
Flawed Helldusk Gloves (Forged by Dammon in Act 2) to add 1d4 fire damage to every throw.
4. The Death Loop (Combat Rotation)
The Throwzerker shines through positioning. Always seek the high ground. In BG3, throwing a heavy object from an elevated position adds extra bludgeoning damage based on the weight and fall height (Crushing damage).
- Turn 1 - The Opening: Bonus Action to enter Frenzied Rage.
- Main Action: Throw Nyrulna or your Pike twice.
- Remaining Bonus Action: Use Frenzied Throw to throw a third time. Frenzied Throw has the magical property of knocking the target Prone without allowing a Saving Throw!
- The Surge (Optional): If it is a boss, activate Action Surge to throw two more times. Total: 5 devastating throws on Turn 1.
